Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has stated that the individuals leading the 2027 coalition, which aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the next general election, are destiny rustlers.
Naija News reports that leaders of the opposition and heavyweight politicians, including a former Senate President, David Mark, former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, among others, have been planning a coalition ahead of the 2027 election.
During an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, Sowore stated that those in the coalition are tired individuals who are complicit in the country’s current state.
The human rights activist reiterated that he is not joining the coalition, adding that the opposition coalition is created to distract Nigerians from forming their own.
He said, “If you look at the people in this coalition, they are people who are tired, apart from the fact that they are complicit in putting Nigeria where it is today. They’re destiny rustlers, just as you talk about cattle rustlers.
“I’m not part of the opposition coalition. I’ve said it time without number. The coalition that Nigerians need is the one formed by the oppressed.
“This opposition coalition move you’re seeing was actually created to distract the Nigerians from creating their own.”
