The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to take on anybody who tries to sabotage his efforts to transform the FCT.
Naija News reports that he stated this on Saturday during an inspection visit to the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.
The Minister asserted that he would never succumb to any form of intimidation or blackmail in the discharge of his duties.
He pledged to restore the Golf club to its old glory, adding that he would never allow anybody to take over the Federal government’s facility.
The crisis over structural reforms led to the indefinite shutdown of the Abuja Golf Club.
However, Wike said, “We will not allow anybody to take what belongs to the federal government. No amount of blackmail will change me. If anyone moves to sabotage me, I will take you out.
“Government is not a good manager, hence why we appointed the interim management committee. You can’t take over the club because we appointed you to manage the club.”
The Minister assured the institution of renovating the clubhouse, but urged them to pay the ground rent. Wike vowed to seal the club if it fails to pay ground rent.
