BREAKING: Tinubu Arrives Kaduna Amid Tight Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday arrived Kaduna State for the second leg of his three-state working tour, aimed at commissioning major developmental projects.

Naija News reports that the Boeing 737 jet conveying the President touched down at the Military Airport in Mando at exactly 1:27 p.m., where he was received by a high-powered delegation of government officials and traditional rulers.

On hand to welcome the President were Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani; and the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Also present were governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, among other top dignitaries.

Tinubu was honored with a military guard of honour led by the Nigerian Air Force band.

During the one-day visit, the President is scheduled to commission several legacy projects including:

The Institute of Skill Acquisition and Development in Riga Chukun

A 300-bed Specialist Hospital located in Millennium City

100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to boost Kaduna’s intra-city transport

He is also expected to attend a grand civic reception at Murtala Square, organised in his honour by the Kaduna State Government.

The visit, initially scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed by 24 hours to accommodate the President’s earlier trip to Benue State, where he commiserated with victims of recent attacks that reportedly left around 200 dead and hundreds displaced.

Ahead of Tinubu’s arrival, security was heightened across Kaduna metropolis, with temporary traffic diversions enforced on Kawo Bridge and Independence Way between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. to ease movement and secure the President’s route.

Following the Kaduna stop, the President is expected to proceed to Nasarawa State for the final leg of his tour in the coming days.
