Nigerian rapper, actor, and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as “Falz, has shut down swirling rumors linking him romantically with controversial crossdresser “Bobrisky”—calling the claims false, defamatory, and damaging to his reputation.

The speculation was sparked by self-styled social commentator “VeryDarkMan (VDM)”, who alleged a romantic link between Falz and Bobrisky, claiming to have leaked a private phone call between the two during Bobrisky’s recent stint in prison. “There was never any form of relationship between myself and Bobrisky. He reached out to me while in custody, and like I do with many others, I tried to offer help. That’s all,” Falz said pointedly. “Now that the objection has been thrown out, they’re expected to enter a defense or risk the court moving forward with judgment,” Falz explained. Reflecting on the situation, Falz admitted he’s become more cautious about who he helps.

“Thousands of people reach out to me for help. This wasn’t anything extraordinary. I responded the way I often do—with compassion. But this incident has taught me to be more careful. As they say, once bitten, twice shy.” The award-winning entertainer emphasized that his goodwill was twisted and weaponized, but he remains confident the truth will prevail.
