If Tinubu Had Called Me Before Declaring A State Of Emergency In Rivers, I Wouldn’t Have Agreed-Wike

A viral video that was posted on the official X account of Channels TV on Tuesday has captured the moment the former governor of Rivers state and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike was speaking about the emergency rule in Rivers state. It is no more news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state and suspended the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara and the assembly members.

Reacting, Nyesom Wike said he never wanted a state of emergency. He said the President made the decision to save the governor of Rivers state from being impeached.

Nyesom Wike said it is only the President who declared the emergency rule that can decide when it will be lifted. He also clarified that he doesn’t have any issue with Fubara.

According to Nyesom Wike;

“If Mr President had called me before declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State, I wouldn’t have agreed”.
