Prophet Joshua Iginla, the founder and senior prophet of Champions Royal Assembly has revealed why he insisted on strict procedures when building the altar of his church, Champions Royal Assembly.
In a sermon shared on YouTube, Iginla said that on the day the altar was to be cast, he gathered all his deacons and leaders. “The concrete mixer was already ready, but I told them, don’t touch anything until all the leaders came,” he recalled.
He explained that he wanted to avoid rumors and suspicions about rituals or sacrifices. “So that when we lay this altar somebody will not say they use cow and ram to lay the altar. We even videoed it,” he said.
According to Iginla, many Nigerians have watched too many Nollywood movies and now assume every successful pastor engages in occult practices. He called this an “ancestral mentality” that must be corrected. “Many Christians believe that every time you see success or power, something must have been buried. But that is not true,” he said.
The prophet challenged critics who accuse pastors of using rituals to grow their churches. “If it were easy, why are your witch doctors not flying private jets? How many of them have what I have?” he asked.
Iginla emphasized that his ministry’s growth is built on prayer, knowledge, and discipline, not manipulation. He said his decision to invite witnesses and record the altar construction was to ensure full transparency and avoid false accusations.
He concluded that deliverance is not about shouting “Holy Ghost fire” but about gaining knowledge and removing ignorance. His story about the altar, he said, was an example of wisdom in action.
