Trump Slams Israel, Iran Over Broken Ceasefire

United States President, Donald Trump, has lashed out at both Israel and Iran following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement he brokered between the two longtime rivals, warning that further military action would breach the truce and inflame tensions.

Naija News reports that Trump, who announced the staggered ceasefire late Monday, had declared that both nations had “fully agreed” to halt hostilities, calling the development a breakthrough after what he described as a “12-day war.”

But just hours after the ceasefire was scheduled to take effect on Tuesday, the Israeli government accused Iran of violating the terms, a claim Tehran quickly denied, sparking renewed uncertainty over the fragile truce.

The ceasefire was meant to start at 4:00 a.m. GMT on Tuesday, but Israel claimed that Iran had fired rockets shortly after the start of the truce. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office condemned the development and promised to “respond forcefully” to any aggression.

“Israel will not stand idle in the face of provocation,” the office stated, while warning that Tel Aviv reserves the right to defend itself.

In response, Iranian authorities denied breaching the ceasefire, accusing Israel of making “false claims” and warning that they would not hesitate to retaliate.

“Any renewed aggression will be met with a decisive, firm, and timely response,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry declared in a televised statement.

Trump, visibly irate over the developments, took to his Truth Social platform to vent, accusing both parties of undermining a peace effort he had painstakingly championed.

“The ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump posted, insisting that no further attacks should occur.

In a separate post laced with anger and expletives, Trump warned that any further Israeli bombardment of Iran would violate the terms of the truce.

“All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran,” he added in his trademark dramatic style.

Despite Trump’s warnings, Israeli forces reportedly struck a radar installation north of Tehran in what officials described as a “limited response.”

However, following a direct conversation between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump, the Israeli government announced it would pause further attacks, pending diplomatic consultations.
