Tinubu Confers National Honour On Former Kaduna Military Governor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on a former military governor of Kaduna State, Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa (retd.).

Naija News reports that the Tinubu made the announcement on Thursday during his one-day working visit to Kaduna State.

“Let me use this opportunity to correct an omission,” the President said.

Some of the people I missed in my June 12 broadcast is Colonel Dangiwa. Let me honour him with CFR.”

Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa served as military governor of Kaduna State from August 1985 to June 1988, during the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

Following his retirement from the Nigerian Army in 1993, Dangiwa became known for his strong views on national issues. He later founded the political platform Movement for Unity and Progress.

The announcement of the CFR honour adds to the list of recent national recognitions under the Tinubu administration.
