“Many People Thought I Got The Name Oshodi-Oke Due To The Size Of My Chest And My Curves” Oshodi-Oke Reveals

Yoruba film veteran Ronke Oshodi-Oke has opened up about the real story behind her famous nickname, clarifying that it was not influenced by her body shape as many fans have believed. In an interview uploaded to the Oyinmomo  TV YouTube channel, the actress explained how the name “Oshodi-Oke” came into being.

She addressed the common notion that the nickname was tied to her physical features, particularly her chest and curves. Ronke explained that when she entered the movie scene and received the name, she was actually very slender. She emphasized that her physique played no role in her emergence as a known face in the industry.

In her words, “My popularity didn’t come because of my body size. I was really slim when I started. People assumed that the name Oshodi-Oke came from my curves or bust, but that’s not true. The name originated from a movie I acted in that was based in Oshodi-Oke. That’s how I came by the name.”

By sharing this, Ronke has corrected the false assumptions many had about her and highlighted the fact that her recognition was based on her acting role, not her appearance.
