I Don’t Have The Power To Be On Top Of A Man Again-Tiwa Savage Tells Janemena

Popular and talented Nigerian singer and actress, Tiwa Savage has disclosed why she can not be on top of a man.

Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Akintola disclosed that she not only failed her Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination intentionally but also misused the exam fees in an act of youthful rebellion. Her father, she explained, had firmly opposed her desire to study Theater Arts, preferring a more “respectable” course for her future.

“I used my JAMB registration fees to attend a party and lied to my father that I did the exam,” she admitted. “If he is watching this interview, this would be the first time he is hearing about this. I used the money to attend a party. I even bought plantain for people with the money and we all ate it.”

Akintola further explained that she had already told her father about her passion for acting, but he rejected the idea. “So, I intentionally failed the exam. I had to make a statement.” Her bold move may have shocked her family at the time, but it eventually paved the way for her to pursue what she truly loved. She would go on to gain admission into the University of Ibadan to study Theater Arts, where she built the foundation for a distinguished career in acting.

Akintola’s story reflects the struggle many young Nigerians face between parental expectations and personal dreams. Her candidness and humor in recounting the incident offer not only entertainment but also a message about the importance of following one’s passion, no matter the odds.
