Darwin Nunez Open To Napoli Move, Kerkez Transfer To Liverpool Nears Completion

Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez has reportedly agreed in principle to join Italian giants Napoli after holding talks with new manager Antonio Conte, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Darwin Nunez, who joined Liverpool in 2022 for a then-club-record €85 million, is said to be impressed with Conte’s ambitious plans for the Serie A side.

Napoli have now become the frontrunner to sign the Uruguayan striker amid competition from other European clubs and Saudi Arabian suitors.

Romano reports that while Nunez has expressed his desire to make the switch, Liverpool is holding out for a significant transfer fee.

Negotiations are now centred around reaching an agreement on the final fee and the player’s wages.

Napoli are aware of Darwin Nunez’s interest and is currently working to finalize terms with both Liverpool and the player’s representatives.

Though the transfer is progressing positively, it is not yet guaranteed, as Saudi clubs remain keen on signing the striker and could complicate the deal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also closing in on a new signing of their own. Romano confirmed that Milos Kerkez is set to join the Reds for a reported £40 million fee.

The young full-back and his family are already en route to Merseyside, with a medical scheduled for Tuesday, June 24. The move is expected to be completed swiftly, adding depth to Liverpool’s defensive options ahead of the new season.

These developments signal a busy transfer window for the Reds as they look to reshape their squad under Arne Slot ahead of the coming season.
