Abia Lawmaker Dumps PDP

A member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Ndubuisi, has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News reports that Ndubuisi, who serves the Bende South constituency in the Abia legislature, submitted his resignation in a letter dated June 23, which was also sent to the PDP Chairmen at the state, zonal, and local government levels in Abia.

The two-term lawmaker cited the ongoing crises within the PDP as his reason for leaving the party, stating that he consulted with his family and friends prior to making this significant political decision.

Nevertheless, he assured that he would continue to prioritise the interests of his constituents.

“This decision is due to the prolonged worsening crisis within the party at multiple levels, nationally, Zonally and at the State level, which has made it difficult for me to continue to function effectively under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party,” the Bende South lawmaker stated in his resignation letter.
