He has also called for the South East to be given the chance to produce the president in 2031, according to a report published in The Nigerian Sun.
Lamido stated that the plan is intended to promote unity, equity, and long-term political stability in Nigeria while speaking at a high-level political conversation on zoning and national cohesion in Abuja on Friday. “We think the South West should field all presidential candidates in 2027 for the sake of equity, national unity, and democratic stability.
The South East, which has patiently waited, should then be given the chance to produce the next president in 2031, Lamido said.
Under Lamido’s direction, Arewa Summit International has become a well-known political think tank with a northern base that is renowned for fostering regional unity and advancing a pan-Nigerian agenda. He explained that the goal of the plan is to establish a just national precedent that promotes inclusiveness and fairness, not to exclude any one region. “This goes beyond politics. It’s about restoring trust, healing, and reassuring all Nigerians that they belong to the same country,” Lamido stated.
In response to criticism of the North’s role, he stated that other regions had to be given an equal opportunity to lead since the North has led Nigeria more than any other region. “All we aim to do is balance leadership throughout the nation. The same level of national support that we intend to provide to the South West in 2027 should be extended to the South East in 2031,” he continued.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
