Several dignitaries attended the ceremony in Lagos state, including former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, President of Togo Jean-Lucien Savi de Tove, President of Liberia Joseph Nyuma, President of the ECOWAS Commission Umar Alieu Touray, and many others.
