The operation was conducted at Aleru village, which is located in Borno State’s Kukawa Local Government Area.

During the crucial military fight, Abu Fatima was killed along with two of his important lieutenants. According to sources, Abu Fatima had a key role in organizing ISWAP’s attacks, especially in the Baga area of northern Borno. According to reports, he was taken alive at first but died after severe blood loss. The Nigerian Army confirmed the news earlier today by announcing the operation on their official Facebook page. Motorcycles, AK-47 weapons, and bomb-making materials were also recovered as a result of the successful operation.

Abu Fatima’s death is regarded as a serious setback to ISWAP’s activities in the region. His passing has the same significance as that of former Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau for the people in Baga, Kukawa, Cross, Doro, and surrounding areas that were hit by attacks carried out by his outfit. This accomplishment demonstrates how successfully the Nigerian military continues to combat rebels in the area. In a related development, more than 60 terrorists from ISWAP and Boko Haram were slain in the last 48 hours during their effort to enter Damasak, a northern Borno border town.
