Governor Eno thanked the PDP at a state banquet in Uyo Thursday night to commemorate his second year in office, but he also said that it was time for change and advancement. He expressed his willingness to go a different route while acknowledging the bonds formed inside the party. Although the governor has demonstrated a strong alignment with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, he has not formally confirmed the APC as his future party in his recent attempts to garner support for his political transition.
Eno promised that political ties would not hinder the administration’s work in the state and emphasized that his possible relocation would not impact governance. In order to support Akwa Ibom, he also urged political leaders to work together more closely and across party lines. “Invite me—I’ll come if you have anything to do. I’ll be there forever. However, it’s time to make gradual development. Again, nothing in this state will be impacted by it. Political affiliations are not the basis for our governance,” he said.
He emphasized that the state has representatives from a variety of political parties and that the state’s ARISE Agenda supports the aims of guaranteeing food security, safety, and welfare for the populace.
